When I was first diagnosed with celiac disease, I was only comfortable eating foods with a clear gluten-free label. This meant missing out on longtime favorites that appeared to have no gluten-containing ingredients – Hershey Candy Coated Eggs being one of them.

The Hershey Company is pretty good about labeling allergens. Several of their products carry a gluten-free label but Hershey Candy Coated Eggs do not. I decided to test them for hidden gluten with my Nima Sensor.

The Hershey Candy Coated Eggs came back with a smile meaning no gluten was detected. After doing my own research on the Nima Sensor, I am comfortable eating Hershey Candy Coated Eggs that test negative for gluten. When encountering a product like this, I test each bag before consuming. Everyone with celiac is different as far as levels of comfort go, only you can decide what is best for you!
