Craft Therapy

It can be very difficult receiving a life-changing diagnosis. You may already be suffering from brain fog, anxiety, and depression as a result of malabsorption when you receive your celiac disease diagnosis. It is important to seek help from a professional if you are feeling overwhelmed and unable to move forward. Know that you are not alone.

I have a lot of tools under my belt from years of therapy but still struggled to work through the feelings of grief connected to my celiac diagnosis. That was until I began pouring things out into a junk journal, mixing a bit of writing with colorful papers, playful stickers, photographs, and meaningful memorabilia.

Making time for crafting has been an essential part of my healing journey. Immersing myself in the creative process not only makes time fly and worries vanish but also triggers the release of feel-good hormones that counteract the effects of stress. This is particularly beneficial as stress can greatly impact autoimmune disorders, potentially leading to flare-ups and slower healing.

After enduring a challenging season in my business last year, I personally experienced the impact as creative play took a back seat. I am committed to ensuring that this doesn’t happen again and am dedicated to making a positive change.

My crafting adventures are below, I invite you to follow along.
